thoughts, dreams and some prose

Every one of us thinks a lot..if only we had a pen, paper and the patience to record our thoughts into a document ....And it is the same with dreams..dreams are like films..i used to wonder if dreams are black and white or coloured..some food for thought when u have nothin else to do..think about documenting each and every dream you get..will it not make some oscar winning story lines.?.Thanks to the lap top, the internet, the blogger and a whole wide world of audience reachable at the click of a mouse, i have found the perfect platform to give verbal forms to my thoughts and dreams..i welcome the readers' comments ..if it can become a dialogue, debate or even a controversy, I would think my blog achieved its purpose.

people..in all shapes and sizes..

Networking is a buzz word. You need to network for every thing u want to do in life. To gain knowledge; to get your match; to get that dream job; to be socially included; think of anything..Network ..otherwise called as alliance, collaboration, co-operation, co-opetition(!!) and there are numerous ways of calling it.

Internet is the catalyst of the exploding network culture on the earth and beyond..(y not With the space station and even a space hotel coming up very soon) i do not know if in the coming years ther will be a maxim that goes "no work if don't network" or something to that effect. The readers of this post can try to coin a good and apt maxim.

I do not know if all the networking facilities are properly used. You talk of Orkut, Zing, Linked-in and a finite number of them springing up every now and then. Are they used for the purpose they were meant to be invented for? Romance is everywhere. In all the networks. A regular visitor to the networks would find out how many are using these networks for not so productive or usefull purposes..I am sorry i am back to my own favourite topic. Atomic energy is the best example of how and how not to use an outstanding invention. Internet is the next.

It is true, barriers are broken through internet. It can actually do wonders and is doing wonders. If only the users can appreciate the difference between good use and bad use..

Again some thought that was bugging me..many of you may think differently..please do pen down your comments..oops..should i say type down your thoughts? c yah l8r..yes i want to write about the new lingo that is the international universal lingo of the net users...i think that will be my next post..

internet avatars

I have always been intrigued by the internet avatars. Internet provides one with a comfortable anonymity, people get the courage to masquerade as some one which they are not. It is they who lack the courage to reveal their real self, fearing that they would be very easily exposed.

It is interesting to find that many people chat with pseudo persons with fake names, pictures and identities. Imagine the amount of time one would be wasting in such meaningless exercise..

Few years of experience on the net has helped me in locating fake people on the net. What should i do when i locate them? I do not know. Those who read my blog may advise me.. It is an interesting question..i think..

but y do people knowingly do such things? I tried to test the net and find out answers. I myself tried to pose as someone who i was not. Rather I was usually not. When I posed as a highly desirable person on the net, i was inundated with friendship requests. After a while, when I switched my identity back to my own, not-so-sought-after regular image, there was a dramatic fall in the number of friendship requests. Not only did i receive lesser number of requests, but I also found existing 'friends' vanishing from my list. Interesting. Suddenly I started feeling so sad. Was I missing all the attention I received as the 'other person'? I felt i was dumped. I think i was getting a sort of feel good factor when i was one of the most sought after person. But, it gave me an opportunity to understand who my true friends were. I am grateful to them and I am happy I found them. Finders keepers. I hope to keep their friendship for a very long time to come.

Now that I got the answer to the internet avatars, incarnations and re-incarnations', should I stop seriously bothering about them? After all they lead not to a harmful addiction.

This brings me to the news item I read about the Pune Police and Shiv Sena demanding banning of 'Orkut'. Is this some sort of 'Internet Policing' ? or 'Internet scavenging' . I am not hitting upon the right terminology.. I think i am feeling sleepy..i will be back later. food for thought?
Then I read about the tragic case of a girl who was shot in a Mumbai hotel and the killer was traced through Orkut platform. Orkut apparently helped trace the killer. Now what? Is it good or bad? i dunno..
